All Elite Wrestling presented their flagship pay-per-view event, Double or Nothing from the T-Mobile Arena on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. In the main event, CM Punk challenged “Hangman” Adam Page for the AEW Championship. Elsewhere on the card, men’s and women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament winners were crowned and Wardlow finally was able to get his hands on MJF. Was the event worth going all in for? Pre-Show: Hookhausen (Hook and Danhausen) vs. Tony Nese and “Smart” Mark Sterling
The night’s action got underway with the team of Hookhausen taking on Tony Nese and Mark Sterling. Hook started the match in his nonchalant style, causing Nese to exit the ring and take a breather. Danhausen tagged himself in and with a distraction from Mark Sterling, the Premier Athlete took control. Mark Sterling had a good showing against Danhausen too but things took a turn for the worse for Smart Mark when Hook tagged in. Hook made easy work of Sterling before Danhausen tagged in and picked up the pin.

MJF vs. Wardlow
The next contest saw Maxwell Jacob Friedman take on Wardlow with the stipulation that if Wardlow lost, he would never be allowed to sign a contract with AEW. As the match began, MJF continued his mind games and stayed as far away from Wardlow as possible. When Wardlow did get a hold of Friedman, he went right for the Powerbomb but MJF escaped it by biting the head of his aggressor. MJF got the Dynamite Diamond Ring from his trunks to try and gain an advantage but he was caught by the referee and it was confiscated. This was the beginning of the end for MJF as Wardlow delighted in delivering a Symphony of Powerbombs (at least I believe that’s the collective noun) before mercifully pinning his former employer to finally free himself from his clutches. After the match, Tony Schiavone caught Wardlow on the ramp to declare that we was now, finally, #AllElite.

The Hardys (Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy) vs. The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson)
The match that followed was Elite vs. Delete with the Young Bucks taking on The Hardys. In the early portion of the match, the pairs exchanged opening holds and began to mock each other by mimicking the other team’s poses. After taking care of Matt Hardy, the Bucks began to isolate Jeff from his brother but after Nick Jackson got cocky and went for Whisper in the Wind, Jeff was able to tag out. The match spilled to ringside where the Bucks once again took control but this changed when Nick accidentally took down his brother with a knee to the face. Jeff Hardy went for the Swanton Bomb but missed and the Bucks’ Hardy tribute show continued with a mock Twist of Fate and Swanton Bomb of their own. The Superkick Party began but the Hardys refused to die and began their comeback with a Swanton Bomb from the top turnbuckle to a prone Nick Jackson on the ring steps. Matt Hardy took over inside the ring and after delivering two Twists of Fate, tagged in Jeff who nailed another Swanton and picked up a statement victory.

AEW TBS Championship – Jade Cargill (c) vs. Anna Jay
The first championship match of the pay-per-view saw Anna Jay take on Jade Cargill for the TBS Championship. Cargill used her aggression to rattle her opponent early in the match but Jay found creative ways to fight back and even fought off the Baddies at ringside. This brought Mark Sterling to ringside but his attempt to help Jade with the crutch backfired. The distractions kept coming, though, and the arrival of Stokely Hathaway, formerly known as Malcolm Bivens, allowed Cargill to deliver an Avalanche Jaded and picked up the win. After the match, as the Baddies looked to continue the attack so Kris Statlander came to back up Anna Jay, followed by the debuting Athena, formerly known as Ember Moon. The Baddies retreated and Athena celebrated with her ladies in the ring.

The House of Black (Malakai Black, Buddy Matthews, and Brody King) vs. Death Triangle (Pac, Penta Oscuro, and Rey Fénix)
The trios tag team match was up next with House of Black taking on Death Triangle. The match began with Malakai Black and Rey Fenix exchanging holds but quickly became a stalemate with both men sitting in the ring. Quick tags were made between the teams before things completely broke down and a brawl ensued between all six men. The referee did nothing to prevent illegal men getting involved in the match but eventually the two legal men, Pac and Brody King, got back together. It wasn’t long before the referee lost control again and the Lucha Bros launched from the ring to take down House of Black at ringside. More dives from the ring left all the competitors outside the ring. When things calmed down, Pac and Malakai Black were left the legal men but when Pac went for the kill from the top rope, the lights went out, and when they came back Julia Hart was stood in the ring and delivered a Black Mist to Pac, allowing Malakai to hit Black Mass and pick up the win for his team.

Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Final – Samoa Joe vs. Adam Cole
The men were the first to declare a winner in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament when Adam Cole took on Samoa Joe in the final. The pair took their time feeling each other out in the early going before Joe opened up with strikes and pinned Cole in the corner with stiff punches. Cole fought back into the match, though, and took control by targeting the shoulder that was attacked by Satnam Singh with a lead pipe earlier in the month. Joe fought back well but was consistently unable to capitalise because of the pain in his shoulder. Joe locked in an STF to try and provide some shoulder weakness of his own but Cole reached the ropes. A series of four Superkicks to the shoulder allowed Adam Cole to lower the boom with the Running Knee and Adam Cole was able to pick up the crown.

Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Final – Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. vs. Ruby Soho
The women took over where the men left off with their Owen Hart Tournament Final when Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. took on Ruby Soho. Baker was played to the ring by Fozzy guitarist Rich Ward while Ruby Soho’s entrance theme was played by Rancid. When the match began, Baker held control with traditional wrestling until Soho surprised her with a dropkick outside of the ring. This could have hurt Soho as much as Baker though and the Doctor was able to aggressively take back control once back in the ring. Ruby Soho once again put her own body on the line to get back into the match and delivered a Superplex to Baker. Soho soon followed this up with a top rope Senton but was only able to get a two count. Ruby took to the top again but Baker pushed her off and delivered a Kerb Stomp but she also only achieved a two count. Baker went for the Lockjaw but Soho countered into a Hart Family Sharpshooter. Soho rolled Baker up in a Victory Roll but Britt countered into her own pin and was able to surprise Soho with the 1-2-3. After the match, the presentation took place for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament winners: Adam Cole and Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D.

American Top Team (Scorpio Sky, Ethan Page, and Paige VanZant) (with Dan Lambert) vs. Sammy Guevara, Frankie Kazarian, and Tay Conti)
In the next match, Scorpio Sky, Ethan Page, and Paige VanZant (representing American Top Team) took on the team of Sammy Guevara, Frankie Kazarian, and Tay Conti. The men of the match tagged in and out frequently as the match developed but when Guevara and Conti were putting on a display at ringside, Kaz was unable to tag out. When Sammy did tag in, he interrupted the Chicken Wing submission Kazarian had locked in and the partners got into it. This brought the women into the match. VanZant went for the TKO but Sammy intervened. Paige delivered a stiff gut punch before dropping Conti head first into the crotch of Guevara, temporarily eliminating him from the action. Conti fought back but just when she had the advantage, Sammy came back into the match and destroyed her momentum with a makeout session. After Kaz refused to help, Conti got in his face and as Guevara tried to Superkick Kaz, he nailed his girlfriend instead which allowed Scorpio Sky to hit the TKO and pick up the win for American Top Team.

Kyle O’Reilly vs. Darby Allin
Darby Allin looked for revenge on Kyle O’Reilly next as the pair went one-on-one. O’Reilly began the match with a succession of kicks, knees and strikes to Allin that very quickly drew blood from Darby’s mouth. Darby fought back with similar and sent O’Reilly to the outside. Allin delivered, or at least attempted, a dive to one side of the ring before delivering another to the other side of the ring that Kyle countered into a Sleeper Hold. Darby Allin stayed alive in the match and tried to deliver a Coffin Drop but O’Reilly countered into a Cross Arm Breaker. Kyle delivered a trio of Penalty Kicks before dropping a knee from the top rope and pinning Allin to pick up the win.

AEW Women’s World Championship – Thunder Rosa (c) vs. Serena Deeb
The AEW Women’s World Championship was on the line next as Serena Deeb challenged the reigning champion, Thunder Rosa. The match began extremely scientifically with both women showing off their technical ability. Deeb took control after a time and started to target the neck and back of the champion. Rosa shifted momentum her way using her speed and went submission for submission with the challenger, Deeb. After both women went crashing out of the ring following a Figure Four Leg Lock, Deeb delivered Deebtox but Rosa reached the ropes. The champion survived another onslaught from Deeb and was able to deliver the Fire Thunder Driver and pick up the victory.

Anarchy in the Arena Match – The Jericho Appreciation Society (Chris Jericho, Matt Menard, Angelo Parker, Daniel Garcia, and Jake Hager) vs. Eddie Kingston, Santana, Ortiz, and The Blackpool Combat Club (Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley)
As Justin Roberts announced that sh*t was about to hit the fan, it was time for the Anarchy in the Arena Match with the Jericho Appreciation Society taking on Eddie Kingston, Santana, Ortiz, and The Blackpool Combat Club. As the latter team made their entrance through the crowd, the J.A.S. took the fight to them amongst the people. The fight spread to every corner of the arena but the match had to be won in the ring. This was made more difficult by the fact Jon Moxley dismantled a part of it and used the turnbuckle to ensure Chris Jericho would have no further offspring. Santana and Ortiz delivered splashes through tables from a ladder while Jon Moxley was hit in the eyes with an extinguisher. That extinguisher might have come in handy as Eddie Kingston returned to the arena with a can of gasoline. He poured it on Jericho, who was locked in the Labell Lock, and was about to toss a lighter on him when Danielson intervened, causing a brawl between the supposed partners. There was no love lost between Jericho and Danielson, though, as Jericho brought a chair to attack Bryan but the American Dragon kneed it into the face of The Wizard. Aided by Jake Hager though, Jericho locked in a Single Leg Crab while Hager choked Danielson with the ring rope. Bryan did not tap but he did pass out and the referee called the match in favour of the Jericho Appreciation Society.

AEW World Tag Team Championships – Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus) (c) vs. Team Taz (Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs) vs. Swerve in our Glory (Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland)
After the ring had been repaired, it was time for the Three Corner Tag Team Match for the AEW World Tag Team Championships with Team Taz and Swerve in our Glory taking on Jurassic Express. The match started in chaos but finally began with Luchasaurus and Ricky Starks in the ring. As anybody could tag anybody, we saw some mixed combinations of competitors in the ring. Later in the match, the big men Hobbs, Lee and Luchasaurus duked it out, Ricky Starks got several nearfalls on Jungle Boy but was not able to complete the deal. Swerve and Lee victimised Jungle Boy too but Powerhouse Hobbs broke up that pinfall attempt. Jungle Boy stayed in the match, though, and with the help of Luchasaurus delivered the Jurassic Express to retain their World Tag Team Championships.

AEW World Championship – “Hangman” Adam Page (c) vs. CM Punk
In the main event, CM Punk sought to complete his AEW journey by winning the AEW World Championship from the defending champion, “Hangman” Adam Page. The pair locked up early and Page started to show the animosity that he had towards Punk, scrubbing his face while pinned against the turnbuckle. Punk returned the favour before starting to wear down the champ with corner kicks and submissions. As the match progressed, the crowd mostly favoured Page as he tried to wear down his challenger but Punk stayed in the match and picked up several nearfalls on the way. Page delivered a Moonsault to the outside of the ring but hurt his knee in the process. This prevented him from hitting the Buckshot Lariat and instead Punk locked in a Sharpshooter. Page reached the ropes but soon fell victim to his own Buckshot Lariat after Punk delivered one of his own. Page retaliated with the Deadeye and collected the closest nearfall in recent memory. Hangman gestured for Punk’s Go To Sleep and hit it but again Punk kicked out after two and seven eights. Page set up for the Buckshot again but Punk avoided it and, in the melee, the referee was knocked down. Hangman collected the title belt but became conflicted as to whether or not to use it. He decided not to, Punk hit GTS and the referee stirred enough to deliver a slow, championship count to award CM Punk the victory and the AEW World Heavyweight Championship.
